Due to the COVID 19 virus pandemic, we have taken certain necessary precautions in order to protect our patients in our staff. Currently we are asking that all patients come in, checking with the front desk staff, and then wait out in the car. We will call you when we are ready to bring you back to our treatment rooms. We are following all CDC guidelines and aggressively disinfecting all are treatment rooms, bathrooms, and lobby area so as to prevent the spread of the virus. New patients requesting an appointment may call the office during regular business hours and an appointment will be scheduled accordingly. We can also email or mail you the new patient forms so that you can fill them out prior to your appointment date so as to expedite your visit. We can also be reached via our office email at gdonate@americanfootandankle.com.  Currently all outpatient elective surgeries are being performed.

    Welcome to the American Foot & Ankle Clinic of Tampa Bay, your preferred site for the most advanced and complete treatment of foot and ankle pain. Dr. Guillermo Donate, DPM has been in practice for 17 years and comes to us from the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in St. Petersburg Florida. At our facility we specialize in the treatment of all foot and ankle problems (bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains/fractures, etc). We are located in Wesley Chapel, FL at the Windfair Professional Center. Our mission is to bring to the Tampa Bay area high quality and individualized foot and ankle care but also focusing on the whole body. We diagnose and treat patients whose health problems are associated with the lower extremity (leg, ankle, and foot) in regards to the biomechanics of ambulation as well as to the problems associated with the skin, muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems. We believe in the medical and surgical care of lower extremity maladies in order to improve and extend the quality of life, prevent and/or eliminate pain, avoid debilitating amputations (especially in diabetic patients), and return people to their normal ambulation as soon as possible.

    Dr. Guillermo A. Donate is a Tampa podiatrist who's approach to health care is both conservative (medical management) as well as aggressive (surgical management) of foot and ankle pain and problems (bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, ankle sprains/fracture, arthritis, nail fungus, etc), emphasizing in the patient's overall health and wellness. We, at the American Foot & Ankle Clinic of Tampa Bay, recognize that there are many factors that can affect one's health including but not limited to: exercise, diet, rest, environment, shoe gear, habits, culture, and hereditary factors. We provide both medical and surgical options as well as aggressive education to return patients to a normal, pain-free ambulation as quickly and as healthy as possible.

     Surgical care of foot problems such as bunions, hammertoes, toe arthritis, foot arthritis, heel pain, foot fractures, etc., as well as ankle problems such as ankle arthritis, sprains, fractures, complex deformities, etc., require the specialized one-on-one care that Dr. Guillermo A. Donate offers. His 10 years of experience working for the Veterans Administration has given him a unique experience not only performing this cases but become extremely adept at them.
