Foot Fracture Surgery
Surgical correction of fractures of the foot bones is commonly performed and has a very high success rate. Typically these fractures can be corrected using a variety of methods ranging from internal screws and plates to small external fixators. A period of 4-6 weeks of no weight bearing is mandated after surgery followed by gradual weight bearing for 4 weeks in a walking boot. Complete healing is expected at 8-10 weeks with return to regular shoe gear at 2-3 months. The pictures below show pre-operative X-rays and post-operative outcomes.
