Hammer Toe Surgery
Surgical correction of painful hammer toe deformities is usually straight forward and has a very high success rate. There are three different ways that hammer toes can occur and Dr. Donate will discuss those in detail with you as well as the best surgical approach in your situation. After surgery a post-operative period of 3-4 weeks of heel weight bearing only using a post-operative shoe is required. If pins are used to maintain the correction then these will come out at this time. Return to regular ambulation and shoe gear is attained at 3-4 weeks. The pictures below show the pre-operative view and post-operative outcomes.
